Anything Goes.....with Red at Simply Magnolia

Hi everyone!
I'm a couple of days late showing you my Valentine's card that I did for my hubby, which I also made for Simply Magnolia's  current challenge....
Anything Goes...with Red
(the red part is optional but very popular at the moment with it being Valentine's month)
The prize this month is a GDT spot with the Simply Magnolia team!

Anyway, onto my card......

It's a CAS design, as hubby doesn't like anything too fancy, made using.....
Magnolia Tilda with heart arrows (coloured with Distress Inks)
Crackle glaze added to the hearts
Pearl maker and fake stitches to finish
Bo Bunny paper/Magnolia DooHickey sweet lovely lace border
Metal 'love' embellie

Have a lovely day, thank you soooooo much for visiting, hope to see you all joining in with the challenge and don't forget to check out my teamies creations -  they are so beautiful!

Something Old/Something New with Simply Magnolia

Hellooooo! and Happy New Year from me to all of YOU!!
I bet you thought you'd seen the last post from me, it's been so long lol!
I've had nearly six months break from crafting and have missed it, but it's done me good to not do it for a while.
I left all the DTs I was on but stayed as Co-ordinator for Simply Magnolia and just kept it ticking over. I came very close to walking away from Simply Magnolia too, but thanks to Laurigami, one of the design team, we are running the challenge blog together, so Simply Magnolia can carry on and I'm so pleased as I love it but it was getting too much on my own.
Therefore, I have something to blog, as I have had time to make a card for my FIL's 70th and it fits perfectly with the theme......
Something Old/Something New
It's an old(er) Magnolia stamp - Lucky Edwin,
and a new design (for me) as I've never made a cake card before!

Supplies:

Magnolia stamps - Lucky Edwin and Golden Creek background (coloured with Distress inks)
Magnolia Doo Hickeys - star and berry lace
Tim Holtz cog embellies

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Hope you can join us, it would be great to see your entries. Remember we are having a DT call this month, so you could also find yourselves joining the Simply Magnolia design team very soon!

Anything Goes @ LHOSM

Hiya,
I'm a bit late with my card for
this time the theme is
'Anything Goes'
so no excuses, everyone can join in!

I made a twisted easel card, the spotted paper is by SU and the black paper is by BG.

Magnolia doohickeys used are stitched lace, flags and foliage.

Pearls are from my stash and the ribbons with gold bells are off chocolate reindeer from Christmas.

I coloured Magnolia's Dancing Tilda in Italy using DI's, added shabby white frantage and added white acrylic paint here and there.

Our wonderful sponsor this month is
offering one lucky winner this prize

Please pop over to the challenge blog to check out my teamies awesome creations and I hope you can join us.
Thanks for visiting my blog, as always!
Have a lovely week xxx

Summer @ LHOSM

Hi everyone!
Yes, I am still here, although I have been quiet for far too long, I bet you thought I was never going to do another post! Lots has been going on in my life lately, and still is, not least of which the preschool where I worked had to close down at Easter through lack of funds and I had a very hard time coming to terms with that. The children there meant a lot to me and I will miss them so much. I have got another job in a nursery which I started last week, but it's only filling in for others when they are off. It's taking a bit of getting used to as it's totally different to where I worked before but on the plus side I don't get homework so I do more hours a week but still have a couple of days off and can leave it at the door, so to speak.
So, with all that going on I haven't had a lot of time to craft and when I have had time I haven't been in the mood. I'm finally pulling myself around though and was able to join in with
next challenge which this time is all about
Summer!
What an excellent theme, I could have taken this one in so many different directions!
I decided on a giftbag, and started by choosing one of my favourite colour combos at the moment.....blue and yellow.
