Totally Tilda DT MW #68 Shaped card

Happy Easter everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying a fab Easter day with friends, family or a bit of piece and quiet to yourself ;) Whatever you're doing, maybe you'll be interested to know that over at
we are halfway through our current challenge
 'Shaped cards'
which still leaves plenty of time for you to make something beautiful to enter. As long as your card shape is not square or rectangular and Tilda is the main image then you could be winning our fab prize or be picked as one of the DT's top three!

Well, on to the creation I made this week, a double circle easel:

I used my Grand Nestie scalloped circle dies again for both the base easel and DP layers, the flowered yellow paper is BG and the flowered blue paper is SU. All the cut butterflies are using a Sizzix SU Embosslits die called Beautiful Wings which embosses them with different patterns too.

For the left hand part of the card I masked Tilda with eggs in her apron and Spring background, mounted the finished DI coloured image on kraft cut into nestie lacy circle shape, then added cheesecloth behind it.

This is the right hand side of the card. I masked Tilda carrying a lamb and tulip wheelbarrow, cut another nestie lacey circle out of kraft and added more cheesecloth.

I glued my two separate circle easel cards together and made a centrepiece for a tag sentiment using nestie labels sixteen, tied two Sizzix tags to a piece of lemon ribbon and added WOC flowers.

As you know we are lucky to be sponsored by The Ribbon Girl for this challenge

Challenges I would love to enter:
Magnolialicious - Spring
Midweek Magnolias - Favourite stamp: Tilda carrying a lamb because not only is she a dream to colour but she's a spring stamp and it has to be my favourite time of year!

That concludes my Easter creations for this year, I've loved using the spring colour combos - I hope spring weather is just round the corner now :) The sun was definitely shining when I took the pictures of this card which was a very welcome sight after all the snowy grey skies.
The kids are having their usual Easter egg hunt around the house this morning and although I haven't had time to bake yet, I'm looking forward to doing some Easter baking with them this week. Now that I'm working, I appreciate the time off more these days and with working at a preschool I get the best of both worlds as I'm off when they are :)
Thanks so much for popping by and taking a look at what I've been up to, I hope you find time to join us at Totally Tilda, and enjoy the week ahead
Hugs,

Guest designer for Simply Magnolia

Hi, I'm back again as promised, and soooooo excited to be showing you this project!
I was thrilled when I found out a couple of weeks ago that the lovely ladies over at
had chosen me to Guest Design for them, (thanks so much ladies - it means such a lot!) It's the first time I've ever been a part of a GDT and don't win things very often so this was a treat for me!
The challenge brief that I was given was
Tilda Wearing a Hat
and I thought of this Tilda instantly lol!
I didn't have her so it gave me an excuse to go on a craft spending spree and I bought some Magnolia Doo Bee Pops at the same time, some of which also found its way onto my creation.
I hope the pictures do this justice as it looks far better IRL and I wanted you to get a good idea of what I made.
It's a decorated/packaged foam Easter egg. The foam Easter egg has chocolate eggs inside (but forgot to take a pic before I wrapped it up!) I first painted the egg white using acrylic paint(I had previously used it for Easter last year and it was pink) and then once that had dried I did two coats of crackle paint. If you click on the picture below you might be able to see the cracks - it worked really well but it's covered by the cellophane and outer packaging!

The 'packaging' is a strip of Kraft covered in Magnolia paper. Tilda with her bunny from Butterfly Dreams collection is coloured using DI's. The Doo Bee Pops egg has SU seam binding tied round it and most of the flowers are WOC. The nesties shape that Tilda and her egg are sat on is labels twenty two and this was all layered with cheesecloth.

Ruffled SU seam binding and curled yellow florist ribbon was used to tie up the packaging.

Simply Magnolia are sponsored by Tilda's Town
with this fab prize up for grabs
and if that wasn't enough to get you entering your fab creations, they're also having a DT call!

Challenges I would love to enter:
MDUC - Easter Greetings
Magnolialicious - All About Easter

That's all from me this week, hope you like my decorated Easter egg, don't forget to check out all the Simply Magnolia DT's awesome inspiration! Thanks, as always for your continued support, your comments are treasured :)
Please scroll down for my Totally Tilda DT card for the new challenge, Shaped cards, that started today.

Yippee, only three days to go till the end of term for me and the kiddi winks, so looking forward to chilling out with them and forgetting about any sort of routine!!!!
Hugs,

Totally Tilda's gone all shapely DT #68

Morning everyone,
Hope you are ready for a brand new
 challenge which this time is
Shaped cards featuring our lovely Tilda (no squares or rectangles please :)
After last fortnights fab Easter challenge, I can't wait to see what everyone makes for this one, the standard of work is always so high!
My card is probably as CAS as I go these days and I held back quite a bit as I wanted the image to dominate, and because the scene had lots of different colours I thought I would keep the details to two simple colours so it didn't overpower my image.

The shape of my card is made using my Grand Nesties Scalloped Circles dies, Magnolia DooHickeys used were Lovely Fence,  Bon Voyage flower and tag. I used an SU brad to attach my tag behind the image. Flowers, ribbon and feather are from my stash.

The sentiment is a Forever Friends Easter clear stamp.

We are lucky to be sponsored by The Ribbon Girl for this challenge

Challenges I would love to enter:
Tilda's Town - Think Spring
Marvelous Magnolias - Dies
Fussy and Fancy - Spring Days

I hope you can join us this fortnight and take a peek at the rest of my teamies awesome work for more inspiration!
I will be back soon with my Guest Designer creation for Simply Magnolia

Totally Tilda DT MW reminder #67 Easter Tilda with egg

Hellooooo everyone! and a huge welcome to my newest followers, hope you can stay a while and that you enjoy what you see!
I'm here today to show you my midway reminder for
which as you all know by now is.....
Easter Tilda with at least one egg!
If you are anything like me you will be spoiled for choice with all the gorgeous Easter Tilda's both old and new and I chose to use a slightly older Tilda this time to decorate an Easter basket......

There are so many basket templates and tutorials out there, just google paper basket templates and take your pick. I think this one is called a diaper fold basket and I covered the sides and handle using Cosmo Cricket  - Material Girl paper (well I think it is anyway - some of my paper has got jumbled up so forgive me if I've got this wrong!) The tag is a Magnolia DooHickey with some cheesecloth tied at the top. (Looks like I've spelt Easter wrong,  it made me look twice when seeing it on the photo, but it's just how I've written it! Phew - that was a relief lol)
The fancy cut edge on the handle is created using an SU punch.

As you can see I've not only got Tilda holding an egg but I also filled my basket with these fun plastic eggs  from Hobbycraft and I'll be filling them with small chocolate eggs for my kids and hiding them in the garden this Easter hehe!

I coloured Tilda with newly hatched chick using my trusty DI's, then machine stitched her onto some Kraft card. The layers beneath this are cheescloth, nestie shape labels sixteen covered with more DP (sanded edges) and nestie lacy circle (Kraft). Flowers are WOC, leaves are nestie foliage. The pin and ribbon are from my stash and I hung the whole thing from the big bow using SU linen thread.

As you may know, our wonderful sponsor this time is Nikki from Bunny Zoe Crafts
gif maker
with this fab prize for one lucky hand picked winner.

Thanks sooooo much for popping by today, please take a look at my fellow teamies awesome Easter creations if you get a minute as each one is truly fab, and hope you can join in the Easter fun with us!

MDUC - Inspirational Easter Picture (eggs, colours; yellow, green)
Simply Magnolia - Easter and eggs
Magnolialicious - Spring/Easter
Marvelous Magnolia - Tilda in a dress
Tilda's Town - Anything Goes

I'll be back next Sunday with a new project for Totally Tilda, in the mean time enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a great week :)
