Favourite card of 2014 - D.O.C DT

Hi everyone!
Hope you've all had the best Christmas and are looking forward to a brilliant new year. It's gone so fast, I can't quite believe we only have one day left of 2014.....
With this in mind,
last challenge of the year is to look back at all we've made and pick out our
 Favourite card of 2014!

My favourite creation this year was something I made for Magnolia Ink magazine competition back in April, I'd never had time to enter before, it was the first (and last) I entered, as they decided not to print any more magazines after that!

Technically it's a box, but I did make three cards to go inside it so I guess it still counts as my favourite card!

It's a bitter/sweet final challenge of 2014,
I just wanted to thank Sara and Franz for inviting me to join Deep Ocean earlier this year and to say how much I'll miss them, it's been a pleasure to work with them on this DT, they are both soooooo talented! Miss you already girls! :(
But, I'm also thrilled that my teamie Karina is taking over to keep Deep Ocean going, it's such a popular blog and to lose it would be a tragedy, so thanks Karina - look forward to continue working for you as Boss lol! xxx

Hope you all like my choice of favourite card(s) of 2014,
wishing you loads of inspiration for 2015!
Hugs,

Simply Magnolia DT - Vintage midway reminder

Hi everyone,
Well, you know what they say? Better late than never!
I finally managed to blog my card (yay!) for
current challenge
'Vintage'

My Vintage Christmas card has lace and tulle either side of the sepia coloured Magnolia snowy cottage image, with added shabby white Frantage and stickles on the falling snow. I machine stitched a Magnolia DooHickey Tilda lace border around the image. The brads from my stash looked kind of vintage to go in the centre of layered Magnolia DooHickey poinsettias. The leaves for the poinsettias are made from the same die. Background paper and poinsettia paper are both Magnolia. The card base is a Go Kreate die and I also managed to tuck a Magnolia DooHickey tree in behind the tulle too!

Our fab sponsor is of course Sandy from LLC this time
with another wonderful voucher for the lucky winner!

Challenges I would love to enter:
Ribbon Girl - Anything Goes
LHOSM - Christmas
Magnolia Mania - Anything Goes
MDUC - Tic tac toe (DooHickeys, glitter/stickles/snowflakes on image)
Magnolia-licious - Anything Goes
Marvelous Magnolia - Anything Goes
Tildas Town - Celebrate Christmas

Thanks for popping over to visit my blog today, it means so much!
Have a lovely week

Blue and Brown - Deep Ocean DT

Hi everyone!
Oh dear, I'm a very bad blogger at the moment, I completely missed last week's Simply Magnolia midway card! I'm back working as a Preschool keyworker three days a week and I bring a lot of work home with me so any spare time is taken up with keeping that up to date and leaves very little time left to craft :(
I managed to make the card I have for
 current challenge of
 Blue and Brown
a while back before I went back to work. It was for my friend's grandson who was 1 year old at the beginning of October and he asked me to make a special card.....

The inside has a criss cross design, with a framed insert for a photo.

Supplies:
LOTV Baby boy stamp coloured with distress inks
scallop edged blank card
Go Kreate shaped card die

Magnolia DooHickey star tag
TH chit chat sticker
buttons from stash

Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is

Handmade Flowers for Deep Ocean DT

Hi everyone,
Sorry, I'm a day late with my creation for
which this time is all about
Handmade Flowers!

I'm late because hubby's off this week and thrown me totally out of my routine!
This card is for my friend's mum and dad who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary next week. He's commissioned me to make quite a few cards for him, so you'll get to see them over the coming weeks :)
Saying that, it's also taking me out of my comfort zone as I'm doing cards I've not had to do before, and this one is a prime example - no image! This might be a first for me as I always do cards with an image as the focus, but I'm pleased with the final result even though it's something I wouldn't normally do :)

The shape of the card is a Go Kreate card die - frilly square #8
The wording is computer generated and cut out using Spellbinders Labels sixteen, as is the gold mirri card underneath.  Faux stitching inside and out. I covered the chipboard 50 in gold Frantage.
Cheesecloth, paper and ribbon are from my stash.

The handmade flowers were made by cutting Magnolia doohickey peony and doily flowers out of watercolour paper, coloured with TH scattered straw and wild honey DI's, a couple of pearl stamens in the middle and with star dust stickles to finish. The Spellbinder leaves are cut from gold mirri card.

A picture of the inside....  a criss cross design to hold a photo to mark the occasion.

We are sponsored this fortnight by the wonderful Ribbon Girl with this fab prize:

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Can't wait to see your amazing creations!
Have fun :)
